Series III Mobile Cinema

The Series II 109" and Series III 109" vehicles were particularly popular with Governmental and Non-Governmental Organisations for use in Africa. Vehicles could tour around remote villages, providing services that would only normally be found in cities. Such services were typically medical in nature, although a popular service was that of Mobile Cinema. This was ideal for use by government education departments, and also included public address and recording facilities.

Mobile cinema was very popular during the colonial periods in Africa when Landrovers were used as movie vans to transport a white linen screen that is usually mounted on the Landrover, a portable generator, a 16mm projector and mounted loudspeakers. In this way rural areas are reached with propaganda and educational films which are shown usually in the evenings during dark hours.

Mobile Cinema
Developed as an outreach tool for use in Africa, Series II and III 109" vehicles were used by government education departments, to tour remote villages and towns. These were also used as public address and recording platforms the most popular use was that of Mobile Cinema.
