Series IIA Saves The Day

Delicious irony? Little Series IIA saves the day, coming to the aid of a stranded Overfinch Range Rover in the Salcombe estuary.
Series IIA Saves The Day
There is always a tinge of embarrassment when getting yanked out the mud
There is always a tinge of embarrassment when getting yanked out the mud, especially when the towing vehicle is older and smaller than your technologically advanced monster. So, imagine the embarrassment of having the harbour master's battered Series IIA come to your rescue, when your vehicle of choice is a top-dollar Overfinch Range Rover L322.
The Overfinch Range Rover, of which only 100 are produced a year, was endeavouring to tow a jetski when the boggy estuary caught the driver out. The slick road tyres probably didnt help.
Without doubt fuelling the speculation that older is better, comments have been sympathetic. Well, as sympathetic as they could be coming from Land Rover purists and the Salcombe community on Facebook.
Retailing at prices over Ŗ205,000 for the latest Range Rover L405, the super-tuned Overfinch boasts a tag line claiming, 'The only limit on personalisation is your imagination'. However, any Land Rover is still the best 4x4xfar.
Despite the Overfinch driver's attempt to drive away quickly, if you fancy watching the video in question, the Series IIAs shining moment can be found on Youtube.
