Hi
During the winter, i changed the water pump on my Discovery 1997. Since
then, I can hear water circulating in the heater from the inside of the
car. Sometimes, I was not even getting half of the normal heat from the
heater and god knows how the Canadian winter is cold. So i went back to
the mechanic who changed my water pump and he told me that I have air
stoked in my cooling system and the only way to get rid of it, is to
leave the expansion tank open till the engine gets hot, then turn on the
heater with maximum heat for 10-15 minutes. I did it several times but
no change. I thought maybe the thermostat is to change and I changed it.
Nothing changed. So now its summer time, and when the weather is hot,
sometimes my temperature gage shows a little overheating when stopped
and gets back to normal when I drive. But I have no lick anywhere from
the cooling system. Its been 10 years that I bought the car and I never
had any problem with the cooling system. Is the water pump that the
dealer sold to me is defect!! To me, it can not be the water pump cause
its been more than 8 mounts that it has been changed!! I really dont
know what to do! Could you help me on this please.
