Hybrid electric Land Rover to debut this year?

According to a recent report from Autocar Magazine, Land Rover is expected to unveil a fully functioning hybrid electric prototype within the next seven months. The prototype Land Rover will reportedly showcase an advanced version of Land Rovers hybrid electric Land-E system that was announced at the 2006 Geneva motor show. Land Rovers engineering targets mandate that off-road capabilities must not be compromised and fuel economy needs to improve by 30 percent. This can be achieved with Land Rovers new hybrid technology which uses an integrated electric rear axle to power all four wheels by electricity.
