Land Rover lovers with deep pockets are being invited to celebrate the models final year with a vehicle being billed as the ultimate Defender at an eye-watering cost of Ŗ150,000.
This year signals the end of production of the firms long-serving Defender model.
The Midland car-makers rugged go-anywhere 4x4 can trace its lineage right back to the original Land Rover vehicle which set the ball rolling back in 1948.
While Land Rover has launched a series of special editions to mark the final year of the Defender which range in price from Ŗ27,800 to Ŗ61,845 die-hards might like to go the extra mile for a special edition.
Leeds-based Kahn Design, which specialises in modifying a wide range of cars including Land Rovers, has launched what many are calling the ultimate Defender.
The coach-built Flying Huntsman 105 Longnose is an elongated Defender that boasts the kind of performance more often associated with a supercar.
A range of engine options are available but the most potent choice is a 6.2-litre V8 petrol engine delivering a blistering 450bhp.
Kahn Designs new Defender has an extra 400mm of bodywork inserted into an elongated nose cone, just ahead of the windscreen.
Based on a Defender 90, the 105 element in the name reflects the vehicles longer wheelbase.
Quiz: How much do you know about the Land Rover Defender?
The 6.2-litre GM LS3 V8 engine drives a six-speed automatic gearbox operated by push-button controls and an upgraded braking and suspension system completes the engineering overhaul.
The exterior of the vehicle is augmented with a square sectioned wide arch body kit.
Kahn Design has described the 105 Longnose as tougher, faster and more recognisable than any of its contemporaries.
It added: With an estimated 400-450bhp the explosive performance of the 105 Longnose Defender is a far cry from the stolid pulling power of the original. Built to tame even the hardiest terrain, this modern British icon is equally comfortable outrunning any road going 4x4.
The Flying Huntsman marque signifies extreme power coupled with all terrain performance a vehicle which can take you literally anywhere you need to go at speed and in safety.
As with the original Defender, Kahn Design has revealed its 105 Longnose will be produced entirely in the UK.
Pricing has yet to be announced, but the company said it was expected to be in the region of Ŗ125,000 plus VAT. The new vehicle will be formally unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
Afzal Kahn, chief executive and creative director of the Kahn Group, said: The Defender is probably the most iconic and well-loved British vehicle in existence I believe even more so than the Mini.
The fact that Land Rover is retiring it is an absolute tragedy its one of my top three all-time favourite vehicles.

With the 105 Longnose I set out to create something fashionable, iconic and revolutionary which carries on the spirit of the Defender.
These days its not what you wear, its what you drive. Its a truly British icon in the same way the Wrangler is to the US, the G-Class to Germany or the Land Cruiser L70 to Japan.
Its instantly recognisable if you saw one on the Moon, youd know it was a Defender.
The 105 Longnose is the first in an upcoming line of retro classic models based on the Defender.
Other models which are set to feature the Flying Huntsman badge include a four-door variant with a longer wheelbase and even a 6x6 model.
Kahn Design says extreme conversions will be available, including armoured variants one of which promises to offer maximum security for the driver passengers.
The company plans to offer four engine variants, but is also planning alternate engine options to increase power output even further.
Mr Kahn added: We are in talks with a number of engine manufacturers to make a total of four variants which consist of 3.0-litre and 6.2-litre petrol models and 3.2-litre and 4.6-litre diesel models.
We are keeping the project as British as possible by coach-building the vehicle in the UK.
We will source new vehicles which will undergo a total re-build with a number of elements and mechanical features refined and upgraded in order to withstand the speed and finesse associated with the Huntsman.
