TÄNA(!) 65 aastat tagasi:
65 years ago today was a Tuesday. The build of No 3 had just finished and it was despatched to Mr Bacon Manager of Rover Co London Depot at Seagrave Road Fulham. From there Ernie Beacon and 2 or 3 others put some additional seats in the back and set off driving from London to the Amsterdam for Land Rovers launch at the Motor show.
They shared the driving.

No 5 and No 7 also went along, they were flown.

Happy birthday no 3 !!!

Kui keegi soovib, saab omale varsti tellida 65a juubelist tehtud DVD:
I'm sending this email to people who have bought (or been involved in the production of) my previous Land-Rover-based DVDs 'First Overland' and 'Stop Gap'. This is a one-off email to introduce you to my latest DVD, currently in the last stages of production, and ready for release before Christmas.

Earlier this year, the modern Land Rover company celebrated 65 years since the first Land-Rover was unveiled at the 1948 Amsterdam Motor Show. There was a week of events on the Packington Estate in Warwickshire — the place where much of the early test work on the Land-Rover was done.

I was invited to make a video record of the event, and am now compiling a souvenir DVD which will be a must for Land Rover enthusiasts worldwide. From 'Huey' — the very first Land-Rover of all — to the latest Defender LXV and Range Rover Sport models... not just static, but in their natural environment off road and in the water. In one case, literally in the water, as we set sail in the Amphibious Defender on one of Packington's lakes.

There's Heritage Land Rovers from the past 65 years, explorers' Land Rovers, firefighting Land Rovers, specialist Land Rovers, and Land-Rovers-that-might-have-been, all in action. And the high spot is the arrival (by helicopter) of the 65th Birthday Cake, in the shape of 'Huey', being delivered to Packington Hall by 'Huey' himself. It's all the perfect celebration of 'The World's Best 4x4xFar'.

There's more details (and samples) on the LR@65 website (lr65.co.uk), and I'll email you again when the DVD is actually available. BUT... if for some reason you're not interested, then please feel free to Unsubscribe from this list using the link below — I'll not be offended. This won't Unsubscribe you for any future emails from the 'First Overland' or 'Stop Gap' lists.

Regards,
GRAEME ALDOUS.

Saatmine oli sealt ainult paar naela, aga ilmselt võiks sellegi pealt kokku hoida, kui huvilisi enam kui üks on.
