Range Rover MK4 (L405) rumors begin

According to a report from Autocar.com, Land Rovers next generation Range Rover (L405) might use more weight saving aluminum than any previous Range Rover. A new aluminum bodyshell that would be riveted and bonded using knowledge gained from Jaguar could see L405 lose 40 percent of its weight. According to Autocar sources, the new aluminum L405 project could be green lighted as early as this summer with a production date of 2012. Range Rover MK4 might also benefit from Jaguars new 5.0 liter supercharged petrol V8, which is expected to debut in Jaguars new XF sedan sometime around 2009.
