Tere,
Olukord selline. Meil on surnud V8, vajab kindlasti silindrite puurimist ja veel palju muud, et mootor jälle ilusti põriseks. Oleme mõtelnud kolmele varjandile: 1) Laseme Eestis mootorile kapitaalremondi teha. 2) Saadame Inglismaale (kus on plju Roveri spetsialisete) ja laseme seal mootorile kapitaalremondi teha. 3) Või vahetame diiselmootori VW või Mercedes vastu, kuid see oleks keeruline, käigukasti ühendamine ja elektroonika.
Kas kellelgi on kogemusi V8 mootori kapitaalremondi asjus?
Oskab keegi soovitada milline varjant oleks Eesti oludes parim?

Hi Kalev,
Ma ei tea kas suudan juttu nii detailselt edasi anda, seepärast lasen asja ajajal ise kirjutada. Kahjuks on tema eesti keel veel väga nigel. Kuid vajadusel püüan tõlkida. Andke teada kui vaja. Ly
vabandust, technical stuff in English because Ly is not so clever with engines and I am not so clever with Estonian......
The engine is 3.5 from a 1987 RR. Probably the newer engine with stronger bottom end.
Veru high miles (km's) over 150000 miles so 200,000 km or more.
I am 75 % sure we have one bad cylinder, but not 100%. There is some noise when running which I think is piston slap from this bad cylinder.
I had forgotten about the liners. But there might be enough metal left to go with oversize pistons.
However if the top end needs rebuilding and the mileage is so high a full rebuild is worth the time and money. We can do lots of the work ourselves but not a rebore ( I guess my little akutrell is not good for this job )
Also the crank should be reground and new bearings because it probably needs it. Maybe not, but until the engine is stripped we don't know.
And if the engine is stripped it is worth getting the crank ground and fitting new bearings.
New cam and tappets because the engine is in pieces and it is worth doing.
One job follows another you understand!
Maybe if I feel very adventurous we fit megasquirt instead of carbs (2 x su) but maybe not. Money, time, effort....
I can get a second hand engine from England for about 8000 kroon and another 6-8000 for shipping. But is the engine any good? I don't know until it is fitted and running.
So which way should I jump....
All ideas, views, suggestions, new 4.9 RR engines welcome....

Uute hülside osas tahaks teada, kuidas neid paigaldatakse v8 le. Miski pole siin ilmas muidugi võimatu.
It s very likely you get your engine rebuild here for 1000 eur. I think this number is colse to max rebuild budget. It s not rocket science at all. Parts are available and not expensive. Here. Even the Megasquirt is possible on that engine. I have done that once.

Seda hüllside vahetuse asja vene saitides lahti kirjutatud pikalt ja laialt. Neil see seal väga levinud teenus.
Natuke teemast mööda, aga üks asjalik ja natuke kaubanduslik lugu jäi silma http://www.v8engines.com/Acrobat/LRO_May_small.PDF . Hülsse saab vahetada nii, et soojendatakse mootor üles ja jahutatakse hülsid maha. Näiteks kuiva jääga. Aga siis peab hirmus tahtmine olema seda konkreetset mootorit remontida. Tänapäeva oludes on lihtsam vähemkasutatud ja paremas korras mootor leida.

järgmine....kasutatud block voibolla.
ebay....3.5 saab alla 2000 eek (pressure tested so ok).
Ma arvan üks hüllss on paha. OK English again, one liner is moving (I think) Loud tap..tap...tap..tap but not tappets. Research on other forums and web indicates this is likely a slipping liner.

kasutad block on hea võimalus, maybe cheaper than a rebore. sorry English again. I am trying here! I need a price for a rebore before deciding. RV8 PS-i sent. also Myller.
