DEFENDER LOSES POWER FOR 2014

Land Rover has made a number of revisions to the Defender for its penultimate year of production, which sees it sacrifice power for emissions compliance.
DEFENDER LOSES POWER FOR 2014
It's a Defender, and wears its name with pride on 2014 models
The 2.2-litre TDCi motor has been retuned to meet EU5 emissions regulations, resulting in a drop of 5bhp 117bhp (119PS), down from 122bhp (125PS).
We're pleased to hear that peak torque output, which really matters, is unchanged at 265lb ft (360Nm), and that's now delivered across a wider rev range, starting 200rpm lower than the outgoing tune, from just 2000rpm.
As stated in the latest issue of LRO, the Defender name is now written across the front edge of the bonnet, instead of Land Rover, and theres a new style of Defender badge on the rear panel, which loses the flash from underneath it.
